Ally Carswell is an artist and future art teacher native to Clarkesville, Georgia. She was surrounded in this small country town by many who were involved in folk arts including her grandmother whose occupation was a quilt maker and sewed quilts for the Olympic Games. All of the parts of this small North Georgia community influenced her in the art world. She graduated with a dual seal from Habersham Central High School in 2004. During her time in High School a particular art teacher took special interest in her and influenced her textile and fiber arts interest. Because of this art teacher, she now is pursuing her Art Education Degree at Kennesaw State University and hopes to inspire other students as she had been. Her accolades include various president’s and dean’s list awards. Ally also volunteers with the elderly in her neighborhood and hopes to promote art in the older adult communities as a way of therapy and wellbeing. Her artwork includes handmade knit pieces, artwork created with fabrics, buttons, and notions, and many other textile and patterned pieces. If you would like to see some of her work she will be at the Marietta Artist Market in the fall of this year. Ally Carswell Contact Information Email: allyaugust@hotmail.com Phone: 706-768-0649
